Scaled at 1:43.5 (7mm/ 1 Foot), this kit is ideal for modellers looking to represent chemical and oil traffics to their 0 gauge model railways of the 1930s to 1970s. When it comes to large bogie wagons things often get out of hand with vehicles rapidly filling siding space. At only 31 ft long this bogie tank wagon represents a happy compromise, adding variety to a tank fleet without dominating a small layout.
These bogie tankers were introduced in the early 1930s and operated by a number of industrial concerns until the early 1970s. In common with other tank vehicles the 31' tankers tended to be operated in dedicated rakes, either within other tank trains or ordinary freight trains. The operation of single vehicles was not unknown with shunting in yards or movement to customer sidings often being one tanker at a time.
Fully CAD designed and 3D printed, the kit requires Slater’s 3’1” 3 Hole Disc (7122) wheelsets and Parkside/Peco Couplings (PS50) to complete it.
