BR Dia 3/328 Demountable Varnish Tank

Scaled at 1:43.5 this is a set of three resin prints of Dia 3/328 Demountable Varnish (or Paint) Tanks.

In the 1950s and 60s British Railways invested in a number of containerised delivery systems. For the transport of liquids in quantities of less than wagon load, or where onward distribution arrangements were complicated a number of different demountable tank designs that were utilised.

In common with the similar beer tankers the Dia 3/328 Varnish Tank was loaded using a crane and chained on to the bed of the vehicle.

For onward distribution these tanks are also a suitable load for our flatbed lorry kits.
