Scaled at 1:43.5 this is a set of five resin prints of DIa 3/701 or Dia 3/703 containers.
In the late 1950s British Railways invested in a fleet of Tote Bin type containers. A precursor to the now familiar IBC palletised containers these vessels were used to carry powdered loads of approximately 1 1/4 ton.
Loaded either by forklift or cranes the containers travelled in adapted Dia 1/642 12T Pipe wagons (Parkside PS17), with up to ten being carried in each wagon.
These containers are also a suitable load for our flatbed lorry kits.
