Scaled at 1:43.5 (7mm/ 1 Foot), this chassis kit is available for modellers producing their own road vehicles.
Introduced in 1962 the Scammell Routeman was heavy duty 4 axle chassis that was used for general haulage as well as tanker and tipper applications. In various forms the Scammell Routeman was to remain in production into the early 1980s. The chassis kit represents a 26’ long vehicle with wheelbase of 17’ and is suitable for use with both the Routeman 2 and Routeman 3 cabs that are available separately.
The chassis kit is designed on 3D Cad and is printed on an FDM printer in PLA. Mudguards include the enclosed version for the front steering axle and separate versions for the rear. The kit is designed so that the spare wheel and fuel tank can be fitted on either side. The kit features standard wheel hubs on the steering axles, wheels with step rings were commonly fitted to Scammell Routman vehicles and wheels of this type are available separately.
