About us - 3D Printing in 1:43.5
As 0 Gauge modellers we appreciate the difficulty in finding suitable vehicles to park on a 1950s-1990s layout, veteran Dinky and Corgi toys are not always to scale and modern limited editions don’t feature many British vehicles. To this end we decided to take the plunge and work on some vehicles that could be shiny and new alongside steam locomotives or, subject to your weathering and wishes, lurking tired and dishevelled around sectorisation liveried diesels.
Much as we love working in with Etched Brass and Whitemetal we recognise that most modellers simply don't have the time to work in these materials. We've embraced cutting edge CAD technology and 3D Printing to ensure that ease of assembly and accuracy of parts is designed in from the start - our CAD Jockey makes sure everything fits together so the modeller doesn't have to spent time filing things. As to assembly it's all about keeping things simple, parts are located together with pegs into holes, epoxy or cyanoacrylate adhesive being used to achieve permanent assembly.
For the time being we're working on road vehicles but keep an eye out as there are rail wagons on the CAD machine...
