The perfect companion for our Leyland Beaver and Seddon 16/4 Tractors, this kit represents a 24’ flatbed articulated trailer as built in the 1960s. Within the regulations of the time the combined trailer & tractor length was limited to 33’ with a permitted load of 22-25 tons dependent on the number of axles on the tractor and trailer. Between the 1960s and 1980s such trailers could be found on many freight duties, with many loads being sheeted. The increased use of palletisation, curtain sided trailers and larger capacity trailers during the 1970s saw most trailers of this size retired from service by the early 1980s though some survived for local hauls.
